Haven't had a log in awhile, my apologies! I've been busy with the press release and mentor contact forms... Thankfully that's all done (well, the press release is at least almost done) and we're onto construction again. After meeting with a teacher in our school, we decided that our robot's internal components were too low to be efficient. Therefore the teacher gave us the choice of ignoring the problem, flipping the whole robot upside down (rebuilding), or moving the wheel motors and flipping them. We obviously opted for choice number three, as the other one was a dumb idea and the second one was too time consuming to be a reasonable choice. Therefore the last thing that we had worked on with the robot was elevating it. Luckily, that has all been completed and the robot is much taller (Big Rhonda had her first growth spurt!). Next in the making will be the claw mechanism and our next mental challenge is figuring out how to work the claw kit. We can't get it to open and close. We think we need a worm gear, but we don't think there's one in the kit. Therefore we are at a standstill in construction until we decide what we are going to do to open that claw.
I hope this makes up for my lack of logs the past week. Honestly, you missed nothing.
